The referee ignored Wolf Lake's protests and gave Matt Meredith a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd minute, Matt Meredith hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute, Morgan Katz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Winsted AFC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Sidney Akers hit a great ball. After having played for 15 minutes, Matt Meredith managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wolf Lake's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matt Meredith was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Winsted AFC's Sidney Akers got a free kick in the 16th minute. Matt Meredith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Joaquin Morgan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Winsted AFC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Phillip Stovall hit a great ball. Matt Meredith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Morgan having to interfere. After having played for 29 minutes, Willis Dozier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marlin Barker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Morgan Katz in the 43rd minute of the match. If Matt Meredith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joshua Romero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sidney Akers's late challenge caught a Wolf Lake's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sidney Akers helped the player get up and apologised. Sidney Akers hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Antonio Talbot was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 56th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Matt Meredith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquin Morgan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Willis Dozier in the 62nd minute of the match. After 65 minutes of play, Wolf Lake's Matt Meredith made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Morgan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Matt Meredith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willis Dozier in the 69th minute of play forced Winsted AFC's goalkeeper Joaquin Morgan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 70 minutes, Stuart McAllister mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wolf Lake and the Winsted AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Wolf Lake fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 70th minute. Penalty! Marlin Barker had in the 72ndth minute some difficulties stopping Dwight Jean's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 72 minutes of play, Winsted AFC's Dwight Jean made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marlin Barker was left in no man's land by his defense there! Willis Dozier struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Joaquin Morgan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wolf Lake. Joaquin Morgan came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Wolf Lake's Matt Meredith. But to his dismay, Matt Meredith quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2.
