The supporters of Wheatley Heights booed when Skyhawks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lenny Dougherty didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Skyhawks's zone, Landon Bonds stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aidan Welch came out of the goal and Landon Bonds tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Landon Bonds had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Landon Bonds sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute Eliseo Barlow shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aidan Welch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stephen Blount didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Devon Novak went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Stephen Blount was a little too slow when Devon Novak got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 2-0. In the 34th minute, Brian Bassett got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Landon Bonds in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aidan Welch saved Skyhawks from getting behind. In the 38thth minute of the game Landon Bonds who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Skyhawks's Aidan Welch was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aidan Welch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Barlow in the 40th minute of the match. Chad Beebe kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After 46 played minutes, Wheatley Heights's Vernon Ibarra shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aidan Welch came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Wheatley Heights reached it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Devon Novak made the kick off in the second half. Stephen Blount came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by Skyhawks's Lenny Dougherty. But to his dismay, Lenny Dougherty quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Ronald Irwin hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Eliseo Barlow might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aidan Welch. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Barlow ran back to his position shaking his head. With his leg Aidan Welch managed to avoid a goal in the 59thth minute, when Wheatley Heights's Brian Bassett fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Skyhawks booed when Wheatley Heights was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cobi Elkins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Devon Novak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Devon Novak struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Stephen Blount didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skyhawks. Eliseo Barlow who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Aidan Welch when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Wheatley Heights's Stephen Blount played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rosario Lloyd in the 77th minute of play. 79 minutes into the game, Skyhawks's Rosario Lloyd nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
