Skyhawks's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laughlin the free kick. Chad Beebe hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. The throw-in from Wilbert Christopher in the 7th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Laughlin's Damon Hickey. Noel Keene made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rosario Lloyd in the 9th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Colin Duncan in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aidan Welch saved Skyhawks from getting behind. After some careless play in the Skyhawks defense, Johnson Cullen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aidan Welch. The Skyhawks fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aidan Welch should have stopped the shot. After having played for 25 minutes, Lenny Dougherty managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skyhawks's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lenny Dougherty was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Skyhawks's goal looked a bit too open when Colin Duncan came free, but Aidan Welch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Skyhawks's Aidan Welch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Colin Duncan in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Skyhawks's Chad Beebe got a free kick in the 45th minute. After the first half Laughlin were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Noel Keene showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rosario Lloyd in the 52nd minute of the match. Aidan Welch showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Colin Duncan in the 55th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Devon Novak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Noel Keene. Laughlin's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Devon Novak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Gordon Huffman hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Noel Keene showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Devon Novak in the 91st minute of the match. A collision led to Skyhawks getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Lenny Dougherty hit a great ball. In the 95th minute, Chad Beebe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Laughlin played a much better game than Skyhawks and deserved their victory. The Skyhawks players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
