Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rob Craven took the kick off in the first half of the match. Vaughn Rowley charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vaughn Rowley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Roodhouse getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Vaughn Rowley hit a great ball. The supporters of Alpena booed when Roodhouse was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rosario Hong didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clark Luna scored 1-0 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Everett Jacobsen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Rob Craven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the game, Shaun Doran was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alpena's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Roodhouse the free kick. In the 14th minute, Shaun Doran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute, Rosario Hong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clark Luna during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 28 played minutes Alpena got a freekick which was hit by Clark Luna. In the 29th minute of the match German Christopher sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodrigo Hightower skillfully saved the ball. Greg Godfrey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Rodrigo Hightower tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rob Craven in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodrigo Hightower saved Alpena from getting behind. In the 43rd minute Rob Craven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Hightower saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alpena's Rodrigo Hightower played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rob Craven in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
If Greg Godfrey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Alpena defense, Rob Craven kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodrigo Hightower. The Alpena fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodrigo Hightower should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Ivan Fairchild managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alpena's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivan Fairchild was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Everett Jacobsen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 64 played minutes Roodhouse got a freekick which was hit by German Christopher. In the 66th minute Clark Luna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Everett Jacobsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, Jasper Hanson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rodrigo Hightower made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rob Craven in the 85th minute. Rodrigo Hightower was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rob Craven showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 87 minute of play. Rob Craven fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Hightower having to interfere. 94 minutes into the game, Rob Craven cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Rodrigo Hightower was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
