Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Winfred McNeill started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a rather tough play, Lander's Alvin Landers got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Chattanooga Valley's Victor Moon got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 11th minute John Bledsoe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedict Romo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benedict Romo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of John Bledsoe's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Chattanooga Valley's John Bledsoe got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, Darrell Pollard notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Chattanooga Valley's Stan Nichols. Stan Nichols was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Stan Nichols stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Winfred McNeill's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Darrell Pollard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Darrell Pollard got free with Stan Nichols in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 29 minutes into the game, Vern Ham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chattanooga Valley's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lander the free kick. Lander's Miguel Irvin shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 30th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Stan Nichols but with some difficulty. 41 minutes into the match, Chattanooga Valley's goalkeeper Stan Nichols had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bryan Blanco. Laurence Montgomery received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Benedict Romo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell John Bledsoe to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Chattanooga Valley's zone, Winfred McNeill stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stan Nichols came out of the goal and Winfred McNeill tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 55 minutes, Winfred McNeill managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lander's supporters crossed their fingers, but Winfred McNeill was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 62nd minute, Bryan Blanco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Laurence Montgomery's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benedict Romo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Stan Nichols showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Winfred McNeill, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Jerome Baker's late challenge caught a Chattanooga Valley's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jerome Baker helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd minute, Jerome Baker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Winfred McNeill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stan Nichols having to interfere. Juan Snell's late challenge caught a Lander's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Snell helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Chattanooga Valley's Juan Snell got a free kick in the 89th minute. After 92 minutes Chattanooga Valley's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Miguel Irvin who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Lander's corner Miguel Irvin fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Stan Nichols quite easily take care of the ball. Stan Nichols took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Winfred McNeill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Lander had won after a very even match.
