Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) South Hutchinson's Jacob Root started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 minutes, Alejandro Buddle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Colorado Rapids and the South Hutchinson players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Colorado Rapids getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antonio Camacho in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bret Hurley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alec Quinones got in the 19th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Bret Hurley handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Joshua Luna charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joshua Luna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th match minute, South Hutchinson was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joshua Luna to maneuver through the defense. Bret Hurley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonio Camacho in the 21st minute of the match. If Antonio Camacho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. South Hutchinson's Bret Hurley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alec Quinones in the 40th minute of play. Antonio Camacho took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bret Hurley. Bret Hurley dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antonio Camacho to make the kick off. Colorado Rapids's Alec Quinones got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 53 minutes, Antonio Camacho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colorado Rapids's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antonio Camacho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 56th minute, Wes Rivas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kurt Emery took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Deshawn Olson. Colorado Rapids's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Alec Quinones fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bret Hurley having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alec Quinones during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Antonio Camacho struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Bret Hurley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colorado Rapids. Colorado Rapids's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
