With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marlon Gann prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 14th minute Dallas Altman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marlon Gann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Noel Shirley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bailey Kirkland was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Noel Shirley might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bailey Kirkland. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Noel Shirley ran back to his position shaking his head. 32 minutes into the match, East Liverpool AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Rickey Gonzalez came free, but Marlon Gann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rickey Gonzalez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marlon Gann having to interfere. Marlon Gann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rickey Gonzalez's shot from short distance in the 40th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Noel Shirley made a kick off. Marlon Gann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Ragsdale in the 52nd minute of the match. Marlon Gann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dallas Altman, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Bailey Kirkland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Shirley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Julian Ragsdale managed to get in a good position for a shot. NY Metropolitans's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Ragsdale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marlon Gann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. NY Metropolitans made a substitution. Larry Hood replaced Matthew Jacques. Rickey Gonzalez's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 81stth minute, Marlon Gann skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a little luck, East Liverpool AFC's Marlon Gann got control of the ball when Rickey Gonzalez tried to sneak it across the goal line. NY Metropolitans's Bailey Kirkland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Shirley in the 87th minute of play. Lucas McNeil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Marlon Gann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. East Liverpool AFC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
