Jasper Raymond was extremely unlucky when he, in the 8th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Lonnie Lusk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shelby Bruce having to interfere. Marlon Gann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rusty Muniz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. East Liverpool AFC's Noel Shirley got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Huron getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Jason Jennings hit a great ball. Huron's Shelby Bruce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lonnie Lusk in the 20th minute of play. East Liverpool AFC's Lonnie Lusk managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jason Jennings in the 27 minute of the game. If Lonnie Lusk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Noel Shirley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Toby Brady's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Marlon Gann firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Lonnie Lusk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lonnie Lusk scored 0-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Shelby Bruce, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lonnie Lusk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rory Groves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Shelby Bruce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rusty Muniz came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Huron fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rusty Muniz couldn't finish the play. After the first half East Liverpool AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Noel Shirley made a kick off. Noel Shirley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th minute, Noel Shirley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Shelby Bruce made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Noel Shirley sent off a good shot on target. In the 66th minute Orlando Jimenez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shelby Bruce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Huron's Shelby Bruce proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Huron from getting a goal against them. In the 69th minute, Rory Groves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The East Liverpool AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 72ndth minute of the game Toby Brady who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but East Liverpool AFC's Marlon Gann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jasper Raymond hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Rory Groves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Shelby Bruce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Noel Shirley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. After 80 minutes of play, East Liverpool AFC's Orlando Jimenez made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Shelby Bruce was left in no man's land by his defense there! Orlando Jimenez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Shelby Bruce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rory Groves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shelby Bruce having to interfere. 87 minutes into the match, East Liverpool AFC's Noel Shirley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Shelby Bruce narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lonnie Lusk might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Shelby Bruce. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lonnie Lusk ran back to his position shaking his head. East Liverpool AFC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
