Melvin Calderon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Nathan Cleveland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Steven Weeks made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claude Gamble in the 17th minute. Chase Crandall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Melvin Calderon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Melvin Calderon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chase Crandall in the 23rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Chase Crandall managed to get in a good position for a shot. New London FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Chase Crandall was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Melvin Calderon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd match minute, New London FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wallace Barrera to maneuver through the defense. Nathan Cleveland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nathan Cleveland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nathan Cleveland in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Steven Weeks prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Selinsgrove booed when New London FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anson Simms didn't get a good kick on the ball. Selinsgrove's Nathan Cleveland got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roy McCray charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roy McCray the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claude Gamble in the 82nd minute of play forced New London FC's goalkeeper Steven Weeks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Melvin Calderon stood somewhat misplaced when Giuseppe Godfrey came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 89 minute. The supporters of Selinsgrove booed when New London FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anson Simms didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched New London FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
