Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eliseo Vernon started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Collin Lindsey dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rhett Leslie, 1-0. In the 7th match minute, Village Shires was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lenny Velasco to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Woodcrest AFC's Rhett Leslie got control of the ball when Collin Lindsey tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dean Neely made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quinn Woodruff in the 12th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Quinn Woodruff managed to get in a good position for a shot. Woodcrest AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Quinn Woodruff was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dean Neely breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Quinn Woodruff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dean Neely made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Quinn Woodruff in the 24th minute of play. Rhett Leslie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Vernon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, Village Shires's Collin Lindsey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rhett Leslie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Vernon in the 33rd minute of play forced Woodcrest AFC's goalkeeper Rhett Leslie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Woodcrest AFC's Quinn Woodruff in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Village Shires's goalie prevented a goal. Simon Salazar hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute, one of Woodcrest AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Woodcrest AFC. Robbie Cherry shot the penalty kick right outside the post. 43 minutes into the game, Simon Salazar recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rhett Leslie. Simon Salazar showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. When Robbie Cherry fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Village Shires's protests and gave Robbie Cherry a yellow card for diving instead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arturo Negron to strike the kick off in the second half. Rhett Leslie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Vernon in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to Woodcrest AFC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Scottie Ybarra hit a great ball. 64 minutes into the match, Village Shires's Collin Lindsey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rhett Leslie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Arturo Negron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dean Neely having to interfere. Village Shires's Lenny Velasco got his second yellow card of the match in the 73rd minute. The referee ordered Lenny Velasco off the ground. Lenny Velasco kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Collin Lindsey in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rhett Leslie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 81 minutes, Emilio Zepeda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Woodcrest AFC and the Village Shires players grew even worse after the yellow card. Collin Lindsey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Rhett Leslie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 90th minute, Willy McCain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Woodcrest AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Village Shires.
