Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Vance Riker got the match started through his kick off. Nick Juarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geoffrey Mullins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bryon Lozano having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Geoffrey Mullins fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bryon Lozano, passed just outside the right post. A hard shot 11 in the game by Nick Juarez from a close distance when the talented Bryon Lozano managed to make a qualified save. Malad City FC's players were relieved. An unexpected shot in the 14th minute by Nick Juarez got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Donnie Covington came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Malad City FC's Vance Riker. But to his dismay, Vance Riker quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Nick Juarez in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bryon Lozano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Nick Juarez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Bryon Lozano made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Vance Riker managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malad City FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vance Riker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donnie Covington breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 24 minutes into the match, Vance Riker notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Lighting Shogun's Donnie Covington. Donnie Covington was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bryon Lozano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geoffrey Mullins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the match, Malad City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Geoffrey Mullins came free, but Bryon Lozano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute of the match Conrad Hartman sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Donnie Covington skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Malad City FC's Leo Davies got a free kick in the 35th minute. Donnie Covington showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vance Riker in the 38th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the game, Malad City FC's Vance Riker nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donnie Covington made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Geoffrey Mullins to strike the kick off in the second half. Donnie Covington took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alistair Gustafson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lighting Shogun's Donnie Covington proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Lighting Shogun from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Geoffrey Mullins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bryon Lozano was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Lighting Shogun's Donnie Covington played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vance Riker in the 76th minute of play. After 76 played minutes Lighting Shogun got a freekick which was hit by Sydney Franks. Geoffrey Mullins blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bryon Lozano having to make a save. Vance Riker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donnie Covington having to interfere. In the 86thth minute of the game Vance Riker who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lighting Shogun's Donnie Covington was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 97 minutes, Kristopher Darling mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malad City FC and the Lighting Shogun players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Lighting Shogun booed when Malad City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristopher Darling didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Malad City FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
