Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Phil Munson made the kick off which started today's match. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Homerville FC's goalkeeper Victor Stiles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A hard shot 6 in the game by Alistair Gustafson from a close distance when the talented Victor Stiles managed to make a qualified save. Homerville FC's players were relieved. A collision led to Malad City FC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Philip Noble hit a great ball. When Terrence Pittman came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Homerville FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Terrence Pittman couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute, Gustav Nyqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vance Riker was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 20th minute. Malad City FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Vance Riker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Malad City FC's Conrad Hartman got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute Phil Munson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bryon Lozano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Stiles made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Alistair Gustafson sent off a good shot on target. Murray Maurer charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Murray Maurer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 31 played minutes Homerville FC got a freekick which was hit by Murray Maurer. After having played for 33 minutes, Vance Riker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malad City FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vance Riker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alistair Gustafson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Homerville FC's Murray Maurer has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. The shot went over the crossbar in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vance Riker was the one to do the kick off. Terrence Pittman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Vance Riker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68thth minute of the game Vance Riker who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Homerville FC's Victor Stiles was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Murray Maurer was shown his second yellow card after 70 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Homerville FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Murray Maurer hit a great ball. Phil Munson struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Bryon Lozano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Homerville FC. Alistair Gustafson might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Victor Stiles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alistair Gustafson ran back to his position shaking his head. When Vance Riker came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Malad City FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vance Riker couldn't finish the play. After 93 minutes of play, Malad City FC's Alistair Gustafson made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Victor Stiles was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
