Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Malad City FC's Vance Riker started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vance Riker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. But to his dismay, Leo Davies quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 43rd minute, Everett Martinez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ruben Tobin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alistair Gustafson, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zachariah Buckner to make the kick off. Bryon Lozano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lanny Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 81 played minutes Malad City FC's Alistair Gustafson stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Ruben Tobin stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing Lakeway AFC of the goal.
