Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Homerville FC's Victor Stiles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geoffrey Mullins in the 3rd minute of play. 6 minutes into the match, Lighting Shogun's goal looked a bit too open when Terrence Pittman came free, but Donnie Covington reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phil Munson struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Donnie Covington didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Homerville FC. When Geoffrey Mullins came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Lighting Shogun fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geoffrey Mullins couldn't finish the play. 20 minutes into the match, Lighting Shogun's goal looked a bit too open when Phil Munson came free, but Donnie Covington reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nick Juarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Phil Munson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 27 minutes on the clock, Chase Brandt commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 26th minute of the game. One of Lighting Shogun:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Homerville FC:s goal. The referee gave Homerville FC a penalty, 29 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sanford McKee, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Lighting Shogun's Donnie Covington. 1-1. 38 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Homerville FC's Phil Munson fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After 43 played minutes Lighting Shogun got a freekick which was hit by Sergio Wilhelm.

Donnie Covington made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phil Munson in the 52nd minute of play. Nick Juarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Victor Stiles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lighting Shogun's goalkeeper Donnie Covington, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Terrence Pittman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donnie Covington having to interfere. Homerville FC's Phil Munson got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80th minute Terrence Pittman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donnie Covington saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Sydney Franks fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lighting Shogun's protests and gave Sydney Franks a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Lighting Shogun booed when Homerville FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murray Maurer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute Dean Kitchen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Stiles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phil Munson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
