Hawthorne FC's Bo Albert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradley Tobin in the 5th minute of play. Bo Albert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jamal Duarte, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Everton FC booed when Hawthorne FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarvis Roman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tony Wilhelm struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Bo Albert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Everton FC. In the 16th minute, Ray Plummer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reinaldo Ladner in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bo Albert saved Hawthorne FC from getting behind. A collision led to Everton FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Cyrus Williams hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Hawthorne FC's Marcus Vinson got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 24th match minute, Hawthorne FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Locke to maneuver through the defense. Donnie Hagen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Vinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. A collision led to Everton FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Roman Clarke hit a great ball. Bo Albert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Clarke in the 36th minute of the match. In the 38th minute Marcus Vinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donnie Hagen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute, Everton FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Marcus Vinson fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Donnie Hagen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Vinson, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bradley Tobin was the one to do the kick off. Cyrus Williams made in the 53rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Hawthorne FC's Ray Plummer. In the 54th minute, Marcus Vinson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donnie Hagen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcus Vinson's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Brendan Rader kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Hawthorne FC's Marcus Vinson got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 68 minutes, Tory Sprague mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hawthorne FC and the Everton FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hawthorne FC's Tory Sprague got a free kick in the 68th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Everton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Vinson came free, but Donnie Hagen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcus Vinson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 75 minutes into the match, Everton FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Reeder came free, but Donnie Hagen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th match minute, Hawthorne FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bryce McAllister to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Tony Wilhelm managed to get in a good position for a shot. Everton FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tony Wilhelm was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bo Albert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 87 minutes into the game, Matthew Tracy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Everton FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hawthorne FC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Everton FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 86th minute. Penalty! In the 94th minute, Everton FC's Bradley Tobin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1.
