Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Scottie Houser started the match with the kick off. In the 6th minute, Eric Dugan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 11 played minutes Rancho Palos Verdes FC got a freekick which was hit by Eric Dugan. If Scottie Houser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Derrick Robles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rudolph Curran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cyrus Griggs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Glen Valentine's late challenge caught a Rancho Palos Verdes FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Glen Valentine helped the player get up and apologised. Glen Valentine kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After 24 played minutes, Denver City AFC's Lincoln Barnhart shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Leonard Baldwin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Denver City AFC reached it. 25 minutes into the game, Marco Ames was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Denver City AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rancho Palos Verdes FC the free kick. Ronny Hairston's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 31stth minute, Leonard Baldwin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Ronny Hairston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonard Baldwin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Scottie Houser's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. When Brice Fair fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Denver City AFC's protests and gave Brice Fair a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Rancho Palos Verdes FC booed when Denver City AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brice Fair didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rudolph Curran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cyrus Griggs, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Derrick Robles made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Scottie Houser in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonard Baldwin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rancho Palos Verdes FC's Leonard Baldwin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronny Hairston in the 55th minute of play. Cyrus Griggs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudolph Curran having to interfere. A collision led to Denver City AFC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Glen Valentine hit a great ball. With 70 minutes on the clock, Lincoln Barnhart commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of Denver City AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rancho Palos Verdes FC:s goal. When Derrick Robles came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Rancho Palos Verdes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Derrick Robles couldn't finish the play. Denver City AFC's Ronny Hairston got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 79 minutes into the game, Cyrus Griggs cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Rudolph Curran was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Brice Fair recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Cyrus Griggs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonard Baldwin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronny Hairston in the 86th minute of the match. Ronny Hairston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Marco Ames had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Rancho Palos Verdes FC's goalkeeper Leonard Baldwin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Derrick Robles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rancho Palos Verdes FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
