With a couple of smart ball manuevers Orlando Goldsmith in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodrick Jaramillo saved Rouses Point FC from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bill Godfrey in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Salvador Redding saved Lake Wylie AFC from getting behind. Eddy Lundy kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Graig Ford struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Salvador Redding didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rouses Point FC. Lonnie Marshall charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lonnie Marshall the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st minute, one of Lake Wylie AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Lake Wylie AFC. Lucien Jeffries fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrick Jaramillo having to interfere. Salvador Redding showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bill Godfrey in the 28th minute of the match. Lucien Jeffries's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodrick Jaramillo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Rodrick Jaramillo made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Lucien Jeffries sent off a good shot on target. If Lucien Jeffries had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Rouses Point FC's zone, Lucien Jeffries stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodrick Jaramillo came out of the goal and Lucien Jeffries tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 39 minutes into the game, Cliff Barrett was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rouses Point FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lake Wylie AFC the free kick. Lake Wylie AFC's Salvador Redding played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dane Holmes in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Rouses Point FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Orlando Goldsmith was the one to do the kick off. Salvador Redding made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bill Godfrey in the 54th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Duke Bravo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 63 minutes, Leland Tabor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lake Wylie AFC and the Rouses Point FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Lake Wylie AFC booed when Rouses Point FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sam Guinn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dane Holmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Salvador Redding took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bill Godfrey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Rouses Point FC booed when Lake Wylie AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leland Tabor didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute, Lake Wylie AFC's Kenny Groves seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Kenny Groves the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Lake Wylie AFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Kenny Groves had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lake Wylie AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty! When Will Owens fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rouses Point FC's protests and gave Will Owens a yellow card for diving instead. Will Owens hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. 93 minutes into the game, Lake Wylie AFC's Lucien Jeffries nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rodrick Jaramillo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Dane Holmes struck a weak shot in the 99th minute. Salvador Redding didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rouses Point FC. Rouses Point FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
