In the 21st minute, Francisco Katz made a precise shot to the right of Tommy Vogel. Bennettsville's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Millville's zone, Donny Hart stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sylvester Miranda came out of the goal and Donny Hart tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Francisco Katz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Millville's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Katz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Vogel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Millville's Sylvester Miranda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Millville from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Bennettsville lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
