The supporters of Nederland AFC booed when Saukville FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reuben Gee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gregory Hope took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jackson Ashley. Jackson Ashley dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Alan Braden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jackson Ashley having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willard Perdue in the 44th minute of play forced Nederland AFC's goalkeeper Johnson Christensen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johnson Christensen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Easley in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

53 minutes into the game, Henry Swenson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saukville FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nederland AFC the free kick. The Saukville FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Nederland AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Nederland AFC.
