In the 11thth minute of the game Van McNally who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cottonwood West FC's Walter Handy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 15th match minute, Highlands Ranch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Van McNally to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute Young Hatch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trenton Stroh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Douglass Whittaker shot the penalty kick right outside the post. If Young Hatch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Cottonwood West FC fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Cottonwood West FC's Alexander Horner looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-2 in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alexander Horner to strike the kick off in the second half. One of Cottonwood West FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Highlands Ranch:s goal. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cottonwood West FC's goalkeeper Walter Handy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 65 played minutes Highlands Ranch got a freekick which was hit by Truman Hyde. Young Hatch in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Trenton Stroh, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jamal Lujan during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 77th match minute, Cottonwood West FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jamal Lujan to maneuver through the defense. Cottonwood West FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
