Highlands Ranch's Barry Burrell got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Duke Stark during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Barry Burrell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nathaniel Guidry having to make a save. Belleair Bluffs FC's Nathaniel Guidry played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy Gann in the 17th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andy Gann in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nathaniel Guidry saved Belleair Bluffs FC from getting behind. If Thanh Deal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the game, Chad Redmond was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Belleair Bluffs FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Highlands Ranch the free kick. In the 23rd match minute, Belleair Bluffs FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chad Redmond to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the match, Belleair Bluffs FC's goal looked a bit too open when Phil Traylor came free, but Nathaniel Guidry reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nathaniel Guidry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andy Gann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Belleair Bluffs FC's Nathaniel Guidry played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy Gann in the 35th minute of play. Gustavo Mullins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Trenton Stroh came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Belleair Bluffs FC's Gustavo Mullins. But to his dismay, Gustavo Mullins quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gustavo Mullins to make the kick off. If Andy Gann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Highlands Ranch's goalkeeper Trenton Stroh, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Highlands Ranch getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Van McNally hit a great ball. Belleair Bluffs FC's Max Looney shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 78th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Trenton Stroh but with some difficulty. Andy Gann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Nathaniel Guidry tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Barry Burrell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Andy Gann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Barry Burrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd match minute, Highlands Ranch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phil Traylor to maneuver through the defense. When Thanh Deal, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 94 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Trenton Stroh was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The Belleair Bluffs FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Belleair Bluffs FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
