Murdock breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mervin Rollins during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 5th minute, Mervin Rollins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ulysses Garrison hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Derek Dudley hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Ulysses Garrison's late challenge caught a Cuero FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ulysses Garrison helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cuero FC booed when Pizza was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulysses Garrison didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulysses Garrison got free with Forrest Berry in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 20th minute, Archie Grier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Ulysses Garrison came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Pizza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulysses Garrison couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Cuero FC's zone, Otis Holden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Forrest Berry came out of the goal and Otis Holden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ulysses Garrison could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Forrest Berry made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rob Weldon in the 39th minute of play forced Pizza's goalkeeper C.J. Murdock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st match minute, Cuero FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Monty Wall to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the match, Cuero FC's goalkeeper Forrest Berry had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ulysses Garrison. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Holcomb in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck C.J. Murdock prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisco Holcomb was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rob Weldon got free with C.J. Murdock in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 54 minutes Pizza's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mitch Trujillo who took care of the corner kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of Pizza:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cuero FC:s goal. The goalkeeper, C.J. Murdock, was totally fooled by Cuero FC's Mitch Trujillo, who 58 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 69 minutes into the match, Monty Wall notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Pizza's C.J. Murdock. C.J. Murdock was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Archie Grier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Holcomb in the 85th minute of play forced Pizza's goalkeeper C.J. Murdock, passed just outside the right post. Francisco Holcomb struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. C.J. Murdock didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cuero FC. After 89 played minutes Pizza got a freekick which was hit by Mervin Rollins. Mitch Trujillo made a great header on Cuero FC's corner, it was just that Pizza's C.J. Murdock managed to reach the ball for a save. After having played for 93 minutes, Archie Grier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cuero FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Archie Grier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. C.J. Murdock made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rob Weldon in the 95th minute. Pizza's C.J. Murdock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Holcomb in the 96th minute of play. Pizza's C.J.
