Daryl Swanson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without C.J. Wilkins having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Kerry Dickey left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The St. James FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. C.J. Wilkins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kerry Dickey in the 18th minute of play. With a little luck, St. James FC's Pete Costello got control of the ball when Kasey Dudley tried to sneak it across the goal line. C.J. Wilkins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kerry Dickey's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. A collision led to Walbridge AFC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Bobby Staley hit a great ball. In the 37th minute St. James FC were awarded a corner. Clint Blount went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led St. James FC's Clint Blount to fire away a dangerous shot which C.J. Wilkins despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. C.J. Wilkins didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Clint Blount went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Pete Costello made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Bobby Staley sent off a good shot on target. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kerry Dickey stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kerry Dickey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daryl Swanson might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over C.J. Wilkins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wilkins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pete Costello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kasey Dudley in the 69th minute of the match. St. James FC's Pete Costello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emerson Huddleston in the 72nd minute of play. Pete Costello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emerson Huddleston, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clint Blount in the 79th minute of play forced Walbridge AFC's goalkeeper C.J. Wilkins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emerson Huddleston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute, Emerson Huddleston left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Walbridge AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Walbridge AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave St. James FC the free kick. St. James FC's Clint Blount got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Walbridge AFC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
