Ray Cunningham was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Marty Atkinson. Trenton Case sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rene Tidwell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bradley Potter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ray Cunningham having to interfere. Isaiah Kemp's late challenge caught a Malta AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isaiah Kemp helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 played minutes Temple City got a freekick which was hit by Isaiah Kemp. The supporters of Malta AFC booed when Temple City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaiah Kemp didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the match, Temple City's goal looked a bit too open when Bradley Potter came free, but Ray Cunningham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ray Cunningham was out of position in the 48 minute of play, and Bradley Potter capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bradley Potter really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Weldon Rosas to make the kick off. With a little luck, Malta AFC's Bob Hedrick got control of the ball when Marc Looney tried to sneak it across the goal line. Malta AFC's Bob Hedrick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Weldon Rosas in the 57th minute of play. If Trenton Case had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Trenton Case in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ray Cunningham saved Temple City from getting behind. 68 minutes into the match, Bradley Potter had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ray Cunningham. Temple City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bradley Potter was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Ray Cunningham showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trenton Case in the 75th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Malta AFC's goalkeeper Bob Hedrick had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marc Looney. When Bradley Potter came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Malta AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bradley Potter couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Trenton Case in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ray Cunningham saved Temple City from getting behind. Weldon Rosas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isaiah Kemp was shown his second yellow card after 90 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Weldon Rosas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bob Hedrick having to interfere. In the 97th minute, Bradley Potter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Malta AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
