Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Flagstaff's Hayden Steward started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee gave Loogootee FC a penalty, 4 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Andy Powers, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Flagstaff's Dana Duncan. 0-1. Rex May fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dana Duncan having to interfere. If Don Wallace had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Don Wallace in the 9th minute of play forced Loogootee FC's goalkeeper Casey Pike to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Hayden Steward came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Flagstaff fans jumped to their feet. After 34 played minutes Flagstaff got a freekick which was hit by Don Wallace. In the 35th minute, Andy Powers sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Flagstaff's Dana Duncan didn't even have to move. Hayden Steward's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Casey Pike read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. 42 minutes in the game, Wallace Wooten fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Casey Pike having to interfere. Casey Pike showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wallace Wooten in the 43rd minute of the match. After having played for 44 minutes, Don Wallace managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flagstaff's supporters crossed their fingers, but Don Wallace was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Lanny Kelly kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Rolando Webber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. If Wallace Wooten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wallace Wooten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Casey Pike tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Casey Pike made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wallace Wooten in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Loogootee FC's goal looked a bit too open when Don Wallace came free, but Casey Pike reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dana Duncan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rex May in the 89th minute. Hayden Steward recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Hayden Steward managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flagstaff's supporters rose to their feet, but Hayden Steward was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Casey Pike breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
