Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ernesto Whitmore started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd match minute, Village Shires FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florian Morin to maneuver through the defense. After 6 played minutes New Baden got a freekick which was hit by Stan Bean. New Baden's Alexis Dawkins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Whitmore in the 9th minute of play. 14 minutes into the game, Florian Morin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Village Shires FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New Baden the free kick. A collision led to Village Shires FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Florian Morin hit a great ball. After 21 played minutes New Baden got a freekick which was hit by Russ Christensen. After some careless play in the Village Shires FC defense, Stephen Lovell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnold Sadler. The Village Shires FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnold Sadler should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, New Baden's Russ Christensen got a free kick in the 30th minute. Arnold Sadler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stephen Lovell's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. After 41 played minutes New Baden got a freekick which was hit by Stan Bean. 47 minutes into the match, New Baden's Stephen Lovell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arnold Sadler narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stephen Lovell to strike the kick off in the second half. 61 minutes into the match, New Baden's goal looked a bit too open when Johnathan Courtney came free, but Alexis Dawkins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnathan Courtney in the 62nd minute of play forced New Baden's goalkeeper Alexis Dawkins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the match, New Baden's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Whitmore came free, but Alexis Dawkins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernesto Whitmore in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexis Dawkins prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Arnold Sadler stood somewhat misplaced when Stephen Lovell came free in front of goal and shot 0-2 to the left of him in the 74 minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnathan Courtney in the 77th minute of play forced New Baden's goalkeeper Alexis Dawkins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Florian Morin kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Arnold Sadler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stephen Lovell, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 93rd match minute, New Baden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Monroe Hinton to maneuver through the defense. Chants of New Baden echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Village Shires FC had held the ball for most of the match.
