The mood of the audience was pleasant when Harry Rivas made the kick off which started today's match. Joaquin Ladd made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Brunson in the 9th minute of play. After some careless play in the Indiana United FC defense, Clayton Lunsford kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Ladd. The Indiana United FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Ladd should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Clayton Lunsford in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Ladd saved Indiana United FC from getting behind. Joaquin Ladd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charlie Brunson, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Marlton AFC's Jerome Storr played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Rivas in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute Harry Rivas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerome Storr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marlton AFC's Jerome Storr played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Rivas in the 27th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Marlton AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 28th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 29 minutes, Indiana United FC's Claude Sampson got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jerome Storr. After 35 minutes, Eusebio Bliss mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Indiana United FC and the Marlton AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 36th minute of the match Gerry Haynes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquin Ladd showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 37 minutes of play, Marlton AFC's Clayton Lunsford made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Ladd was left in no man's land by his defense there! Clayton Lunsford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mike William hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The Indiana United FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Marlton AFC were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Charlie Brunson made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Johnson Sheldon made a precise shot to the right of Jerome Storr. Marlton AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. If Donny Boggs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harry Rivas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Jerome Storr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Indiana United FC booed when Marlton AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonas Love didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute Harry Rivas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerome Storr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Clayton Lunsford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the match, Marlton AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Donny Boggs came free, but Jerome Storr reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Charlie Brunson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 78 minutes of play Indiana United FC's Eusebio Bliss was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Marlton AFC booed when Indiana United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusebio Bliss didn't get a good kick on the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Indiana United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Charlie Brunson came free, but Joaquin Ladd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donny Boggs in the 90th minute of play forced Marlton AFC's goalkeeper Jerome Storr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Indiana United FC defense, Clayton Lunsford kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Ladd. The Indiana United FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Ladd should have stopped the shot. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Marlton AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
