Marvin Hanley charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marvin Hanley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 7th minute Clayton Lunsford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Rojas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Charlie Brunson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roland Rojas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Clayton Lunsford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Charlie Brunson in the 15th minute of play forced Many's goalkeeper Roland Rojas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kip Spence charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kip Spence the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Marlton AFC booed when Many was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kip Spence didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clayton Lunsford struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Roland Rojas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marlton AFC. 24 minutes into the match, Clayton Lunsford had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roland Rojas. Many's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Clayton Lunsford was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 35th minute Peter De La Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerome Storr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Justin Dickens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Peter De La Cruz to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Marlton AFC's Mike William got a free kick in the 50th minute. In the 55th minute, Lionel Chan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 61 minutes of play Many's Justin Dickens was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 61st match minute, Many was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justin Dickens to maneuver through the defense. After 66 minutes, Jonas Parnell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Many and the Marlton AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Walker Thurman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jonas Parnell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Jerome Storr tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walker Thurman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Marlton AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
