After 23 minutes, Romeo Townsend mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Union Dogs and the Cats players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 23 played minutes Union Dogs got a freekick which was hit by Romeo Townsend. Charlie Metz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Riley Holliday tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Riley Holliday showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeo Townsend, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Reinaldo Swenson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Giuseppe Ryan's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Cats's goal looked a bit too open when Charlie Metz came free, but Riley Holliday reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Gabriel Leary sped through Cats's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Riley Holliday.

A collision led to Cats getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Foster McIntosh hit a great ball. In the 55th minute, Wilmer Holland sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cats's Riley Holliday didn't even have to move. After a defensive mix-up in Union Dogs's zone, Guillermo Mattson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinaldo Swenson came out of the goal and Guillermo Mattson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Union Dogs's Reinaldo Swenson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giuseppe Ryan in the 61st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Union Dogs's Gabriel Leary slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Riley Holliday. That made the score 0-2 after 63 minutes of play. Jack Hardin kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Union Dogs's Dean Sheehan got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Sydney Gonzales hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. In the 82nd match minute, Cats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Adkins to maneuver through the defense. Guillermo Mattson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reinaldo Swenson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Union Dogs's goal looked a bit too open when Giuseppe Ryan came free, but Reinaldo Swenson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charlie Metz scored 0-3 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Riley Holliday, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Leary in the 95th minute of play forced Cats's goalkeeper Riley Holliday to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Cats's Sydney Gonzales got a free kick in the 96th minute.
