Through an outstanding action, after 6 minutes, Justin Lamb successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lamar Marquez got free with Justin Lamb in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 11 minutes into the game, Jacob Ivey cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Alonso Kinsey was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, DC United's J.C. Holland got a free kick in the 13th minute. Lamar Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 22 minutes, Lamar Marquez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lisle AFC and the DC United players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd match minute, Lisle AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lamar Marquez to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacob Ivey in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alonso Kinsey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alonso Kinsey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacob Ivey's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Alonso Kinsey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Corey Werner in the 27th minute of the match. Alonso Kinsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacob Ivey in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Jacob Ivey made a precise shot to the right of Alonso Kinsey. Lisle AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Alfred Britt kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After having played for 34 minutes, Jacob Ivey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DC United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacob Ivey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Lisle AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jacob Ivey came free, but Alonso Kinsey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lamar Marquez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Justin Lamb made a huge save. Pete Burt hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Alonso Kinsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacob Ivey in the 40th minute of play. Justin Lamb took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josef Fujieda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alonso Kinsey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blaine Malone in the 47th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Josef Fujieda to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Lamar Marquez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Justin Lamb. DC United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lamar Marquez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Jacob Ivey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Alonso Kinsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, DC United's goal looked a bit too open when Waylon Cobb came free, but Justin Lamb reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Justin Lamb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josef Fujieda in the 63rd minute of play. Jacob Ivey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 67th minute Josef Fujieda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justin Lamb saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Justin Lamb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josef Fujieda in the 71st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Lisle AFC's zone, Jacob Ivey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alonso Kinsey came out of the goal and Jacob Ivey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Justin Lamb stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Duane McCauley's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. 75 minutes into the match, DC United's goal looked a bit too open when Josef Fujieda came free, but Justin Lamb reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Duane McCauley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justin Lamb having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duane McCauley in the 83rd minute of play forced DC United's goalkeeper Justin Lamb to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alonso Kinsey made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Jacob Ivey sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Lisle AFC's zone, Corey Werner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alonso Kinsey came out of the goal and Corey Werner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Lisle AFC booed when DC United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blaine Malone didn't get a good kick on the ball. Josef Fujieda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justin Lamb having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Duane McCauley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. DC United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
