Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sung Delong kicked off to start the match. Aaron Hilliard might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Parker Swift. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aaron Hilliard ran back to his position shaking his head. When San Clemente's Eddy Sorenson in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Taos's goalie prevented a goal. 6 minutes into the match, Taos's goal looked a bit too open when Eddy Sorenson came free, but Parker Swift reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aaron Hilliard recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sung Delong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 15 minutes, Woody Parson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Woody Parson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to San Clemente getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Isaiah Lilly hit a great ball. In the 20th match minute, San Clemente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ollie Polk to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute, Sung Delong fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Woody Parson struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Chris Swift didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taos. Sung Delong did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Chris Swift 36 minutes into the match. Chris Swift made an important save on a dangerous shot by Woody Parson in the 43rd minute. 48 minutes into the game, San Clemente's Eddy Sorenson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Parker Swift made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eddy Sorenson made a kick off. Woody Parson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Swift having to interfere. Woody Parson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chris Swift read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. In the 66th match minute, Taos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tracy Kerr to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute, Eddy Sorenson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sung Delong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Swift having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, San Clemente's goal looked a bit too open when Sung Delong came free, but Chris Swift reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sung Delong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Sung Delong put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Chris Swift. Sung Delong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the San Clemente players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Taos.
