Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Imperial Beach's Ollie Felix started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Woody Parson had several of the Imperial Beach's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 9 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Neil Smart as he didn't even see the shot coming. Ollie Felix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Parker Swift having to interfere. Neil Smart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sung Delong in the 21st minute of play. Parker Swift made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ollie Felix in the 22nd minute of play. Sung Dudley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ollie Felix struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Parker Swift didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Imperial Beach. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ollie Felix in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Parker Swift saved Taos from getting behind. In the 28th minute Ollie Felix shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Parker Swift saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tracy Kerr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Neil Smart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcellus Alonzo's late challenge caught a Imperial Beach's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcellus Alonzo helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Taos's Marcellus Alonzo got a free kick in the 39th minute. Parker Swift stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ollie Felix's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, Imperial Beach's Marc Marks got a free kick in the 52nd minute. If Ollie Felix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. Imperial Beach were awarded a corner in the 66th minute after Taos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Clay Bonilla took the corner. The corner led Imperial Beach's Clay Bonilla to fire away a dangerous shot which Parker Swift despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Taos's Parker Swift proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Taos from getting a goal against them. Parker Swift showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ollie Felix in the 81st minute of the match. Taos's Christian Bonds got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute Woody Parson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Neil Smart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Parker Swift made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Sung Dudley sent off a good shot on target. In the 90th minute, Christian Bonds got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sung Delong's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Neil Smart read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. When the match clock showed 95 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Ollie Felix sped through Taos's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Parker Swift. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Imperial Beach players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
