Hawthorne FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 28th minute, Jay Kenney fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rico Ray, passed just outside the right post. Rigoberto Adams took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Yeats, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kurtis Hardy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Kurtis Hardy fired away a shot on goal. When Jay Kenney, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 95 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Rico Ray was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
