The audience thought a goal was coming when Dominic Thomson got free with Kraig Rosen in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jamel Milton to make the kick off. A collision led to Lathrop getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Kirk Sherrill hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Lathrop's Chance Hooper got a free kick in the 70th minute. Kraig Rosen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dominic Thomson, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. If Jamel Milton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Long View eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
