With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donny Crawford in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fred Schaffer saved North Plymouth FC from getting behind. Dwight Roach charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dwight Roach the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 13 played minutes North Plymouth FC got a freekick which was hit by Dwight Roach. Donny Crawford scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fred Schaffer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to West Bishop getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Thaddeus Marsh hit a great ball. Guillermo Beatty made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Truman James in the 20th minute of play. North Plymouth FC's Fred Schaffer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donny Crawford in the 22nd minute of play. The supporters of West Bishop booed when North Plymouth FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heriberto Villegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute Barry Bowden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Schaffer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wally Jernigan in the 32nd minute of play forced North Plymouth FC's goalkeeper Fred Schaffer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute, Dwight Roach reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Guillermo Beatty. The goal made the score 1-1. North Plymouth FC's Cobi Griffin shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 41st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Guillermo Beatty but with some difficulty. Levi Pugh hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Fred Schaffer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donny Crawford, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Donny Crawford was the one to do the kick off. Fred Schaffer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donny Crawford in the 51st minute of play. When Dwight Roach came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the North Plymouth FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dwight Roach couldn't finish the play. Fred Schaffer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wally Jernigan in the 55th minute. 56 minutes into the match, West Bishop's goal looked a bit too open when Cobi Griffin came free, but Guillermo Beatty reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dwight Roach kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of North Plymouth FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of West Bishop:s goal. In the 66th minute there was a penalty for West Bishop. Barry Bowden stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fred Schaffer. 1-2. Fred Schaffer made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Wally Jernigan sent off a good shot on target. Donny Crawford recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 71st minute, Dwight Roach hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Rodrick Hess managed to get in a good position for a shot. North Plymouth FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodrick Hess was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guillermo Beatty breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fred Schaffer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wally Jernigan in the 80th minute. 83 minutes into the match, North Plymouth FC's goalkeeper Fred Schaffer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wally Jernigan.
