Domingo Costello might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Calvin Tapia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Domingo Costello ran back to his position shaking his head. Bryce Weston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Calvin Tapia having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Russ Daniels to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Etowah AFC's Tod Mathis got a free kick in the 51st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Etowah AFC's zone, Bryce Weston stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Calvin Tapia came out of the goal and Bryce Weston tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 60th minute, Elliott Hayes made a precise shot to the right of Dexter Roche. Homosassa Springs FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Domingo Costello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Calvin Tapia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Edmund Hollingsworth fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Etowah AFC's protests and gave Edmund Hollingsworth a yellow card for diving instead. Calvin Tapia made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Bryce Weston sent off a good shot on target. Bryce Weston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
