Spectators: 7542 (Terracing: 5658, Seating: 1734, VIP seats: 150) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Sydney Kidd got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moses Goodman in the 4th minute of play forced Benton's goalkeeper Severo Gorbea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, West Linn AFC's Boyd Avalos got control of the ball when Sydney Kidd tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wally Kennedy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Severo Gorbea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sydney Kidd's late challenge caught a West Linn AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sydney Kidd helped the player get up and apologised. After 17 played minutes Benton got a freekick which was hit by Sydney Kidd. After a rather tough play, Benton's Timmy Castillo got a free kick in the 19th minute. The supporters of West Linn AFC booed when Benton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Parker Samuel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 27 played minutes West Linn AFC got a freekick which was hit by Damien Silva. In the 34th match minute, Benton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tracey Pryor to maneuver through the defense. Severo Gorbea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Troy Lester, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Moses Goodman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 55th minute, Troy Lester got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wally Kennedy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moses Goodman in the 63rd minute of play forced Benton's goalkeeper Severo Gorbea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The attack was good, but when Stacey Whitt in the 76th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Thanks to some nice moves Troy Lester could shoot a difficult shot in the 82nd minute, which Severo Gorbea however easily saved by the left post. If Moses Goodman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Moses Goodman took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Severo Gorbea. Severo Gorbea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Benton's zone, Troy Lester stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severo Gorbea came out of the goal and Troy Lester tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the West Linn AFC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
