Esteban Sargent didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Ken Caryl getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Aidan Westbrook hit a great ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nick Parrish to make the kick off. If Nick Parrish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dan Whittaker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jay Brand, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Scotty Lawson in the 67th minute of play forced Pittsburgh's goalkeeper Dan Whittaker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute Randall Hollingsworth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans Dorsey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, one of Ken Caryl:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ken Caryl.
