Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Conrad Whitman started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Gilbert's George Hinds got a free kick in the 8th minute. After 18 played minutes Gilbert got a freekick which was hit by Julian Morgan. 20 minutes into the game, Clemson's Conrad Whitman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matthew Kerns made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Gilbert's Jefferson Stratton got a free kick in the 35th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Jeremy Carnes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Clark Trujillo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Clark Trujillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jefferson Stratton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Clemson players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gilbert were winning 1-2.

Conrad Whitman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthew Kerns having to interfere. Alvin Dixon hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Theodore Daley charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Theodore Daley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 65 played minutes Gilbert got a freekick which was hit by Theodore Daley. In the 71st match minute, Clemson was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarvis Medrano to maneuver through the defense. Conrad Whitman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Gilbert getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Roberto Day hit a great ball. If Eli Rowland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Conrad Whitman struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Matthew Kerns didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clemson. In the 84th minute, Rolland Bellamy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jeremy Carnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
