The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dominique Ash to make the kick off. Monty Hoskins struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Rodrick Carr didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ATL United. The throw-in from Logan Goodson in the 55th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Liverpool's Ari Mack. Liverpool's Rodrick Carr played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walter Choi in the 57th minute of play. The ATL United fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when ATL United's Monty Hoskins looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Liverpool's attentive Patrick Yoder managed to snatch the ball when Steven Cangiano made a throw-in in the 63rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Hoskins in the 66th minute of play forced Liverpool's goalkeeper Rodrick Carr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Monty Hoskins put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Rodrick Carr. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Monty Hoskins in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodrick Carr saved Liverpool from getting behind. There was no doubt that ATL United were the better team. ATL United's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
