Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Filiberto Littlejohn in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julian Hutton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Linden's goalkeeper Julian Hutton, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Linden's Osvaldo Kidd got a free kick in the 17th minute. Julian Hutton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filiberto Littlejohn's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Sturtevant AFC's Filiberto Littlejohn got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 33rdth minute of the game Filiberto Littlejohn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Linden's Julian Hutton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Linden's Julian Hutton got control of the ball when Julio Chester tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Linden's Osvaldo Kidd got a free kick in the 35th minute. Filiberto Littlejohn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Linden defense, Julio Chester kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julian Hutton. The Linden fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julian Hutton should have stopped the shot. In the 47th minute, Ronald McCracken got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Brendon Roy didn't quite understand what happened when in the 52 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. 56 minutes into the match, Julio Chester had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julian Hutton. Linden's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julio Chester was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Julio Chester recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 60 minutes into the match, Sturtevant AFC's Filiberto Littlejohn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julian Hutton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hal Prince received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Julian Hutton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hal Prince scored 4-0 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julian Hutton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Linden defense, Filiberto Littlejohn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julian Hutton. The Linden fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julian Hutton should have stopped the shot. If Filiberto Littlejohn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. Sturtevant AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hal Prince was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julian Hutton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terry Luna in the 88th minute of play forced Linden's goalkeeper Julian Hutton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julian Hutton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hal Prince, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute.
