Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Garth Sprague made the kick off and thus started the match. 2 minutes into the match, Sturtevant AFC's Filiberto Littlejohn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Phil Dooley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 4th minute Vincent Meza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Childress saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garth Sprague in the 7th minute of play forced Sturtevant AFC's goalkeeper Allan Childress to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Cockermouth United defense, Julio Chester kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Phil Dooley. The Cockermouth United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Phil Dooley should have stopped the shot. Allan Childress made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vincent Meza in the 14th minute of play. Hal Prince fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Dooley having to interfere. Hal Prince recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Allan Childress took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Garth Sprague, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20thth minute of the game Filiberto Littlejohn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cockermouth United's Phil Dooley was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cockermouth United's zone, Julio Chester stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phil Dooley came out of the goal and Julio Chester tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Cockermouth United getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Ali Carbajal hit a great ball. Filiberto Littlejohn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Dooley having to interfere. Sturtevant AFC's Filiberto Littlejohn got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Sturtevant AFC defense, Vincent Meza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Allan Childress. The Sturtevant AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Allan Childress should have stopped the shot. Sturtevant AFC's Allan Childress played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shawn Tompkins in the 46th minute of play. Allan Childress showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shawn Tompkins in the 48th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Filiberto Littlejohn was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Cockermouth United's zone, Filiberto Littlejohn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phil Dooley came out of the goal and Filiberto Littlejohn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Chester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Garth Sprague kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Allan Childress made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Shawn Tompkins sent off a good shot on target. 64 minutes into the game, Cockermouth United's Vincent Meza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Allan Childress made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cockermouth United's goalkeeper Phil Dooley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Phil Dooley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filiberto Littlejohn in the 69th minute of play. Phil Dooley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Chester in the 70th minute of play. Filiberto Littlejohn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Phil Dooley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Vincent Meza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the match, Cockermouth United's goal looked a bit too open when Filiberto Littlejohn came free, but Phil Dooley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vicente Tate hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After 83 played minutes Sturtevant AFC got a freekick which was hit by Shawn Dupree. When Charles Glover came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Cockermouth United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charles Glover couldn't finish the play. Terry Luna lost his temper 88 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sturtevant AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty! Charles Glover shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After 92 played minutes Cockermouth United got a freekick which was hit by Shawn Tompkins. Allan Childress made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garth Sprague in the 93rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sturtevant AFC's Ronald McCracken got a free kick in the 96th minute. The Sturtevant AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cockermouth United's performance. The match ended with a win for Cockermouth United.
