Spencer Kinsey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kristopher Mays in the 24th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Kristopher Mays sped through Sewaren's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Spencer Kinsey. Bob Hollis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pete Fountain having to make a save. In the 31st minute Bob Hollis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pete Fountain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Sewaren's goal looked a bit too open when Kristopher Mays came free, but Spencer Kinsey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Spencer Kinsey made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. 62 minutes into the game, Bob Hollis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Pete Fountain was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dwight Piper got free with Spencer Kinsey in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pete Fountain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob Hollis, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Spencer Kinsey made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Guy Tidwell sent off a good shot on target. If Bob Hollis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 79 minutes, Andy Mackey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sewaren's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andy Mackey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sewaren fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty! Stanford Gill placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out!
