When Marcellus Faulk came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Iona fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcellus Faulk couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Parsons in the 12th minute of play forced South Glens Falls's goalkeeper Stacy Stephenson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stacy Stephenson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Parsons's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. 22 minutes into the game, Theo Burch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. South Glens Falls's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Iona the free kick. Theo Burch hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. But to his dismay, Daniel Parsons quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. With a little luck, Iona's Claude Conrad got control of the ball when Son Huddleston tried to sneak it across the goal line. Curtis McCabe kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Stacy Stephenson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcellus Faulk in the 41st minute of play. If Daniel Parsons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Parsons to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Marcellus Faulk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iona's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcellus Faulk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stacy Stephenson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind South Glens Falls's goalkeeper Stacy Stephenson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 63 minutes into the match, South Glens Falls's goalkeeper Stacy Stephenson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Curtis McCabe. After 65 minutes, Daniel Parsons mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Iona and the South Glens Falls players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stacy Stephenson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Iona. In the 92nd minute Daniel Parsons shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stacy Stephenson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Parsons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcellus Faulk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stacy Stephenson having to interfere. When the match was over Iona could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than South Glens Falls throughout the match.
