Jess Gabriel started the match with the kick off. When Marcellus Faulk came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Iona fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcellus Faulk couldn't finish the play. Damien Rowley came free with the goalkeeper in the 11th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Claude Conrad could save by the left post. Stanford Cooper kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. A collision led to Boricua Islanders getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Damien Rowley hit a great ball. Phillip Saunders sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee felt a red card was in order, 18 minutes into the game, when Roosevelt Hogan put in a rough tackle. The referee gave Iona a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Daniel Parsons, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Boricua Islanders's Patrick McNeal. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Parsons in the 27th minute of play forced Boricua Islanders's goalkeeper Patrick McNeal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ethan Hartman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrick McNeal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Parsons in the 33rd minute of play. Patrick McNeal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Parsons's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Parsons in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patrick McNeal saved Boricua Islanders from getting behind. Daniel Parsons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phillip Saunders scored 0-2 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patrick McNeal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Boricua Islanders players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Iona were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Parsons to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Iona booed when Boricua Islanders was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emerson Merchant didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute, Iona's Marcellus Faulk dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Daniel Parsons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Boricua Islanders's Ethan Hartman got a free kick in the 66th minute. If Phillip Saunders had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Marcellus Faulk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Parsons fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick McNeal having to interfere. After 78 minutes of play, Iona's Daniel Parsons made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Patrick McNeal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Patrick McNeal came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Iona's Daniel Parsons. But to his dismay, Daniel Parsons quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Parsons got free with Patrick McNeal in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcellus Faulk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Parsons came free with the goalkeeper in the 94th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Patrick McNeal could save by the left post.
