Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Shamrock's Orville Comer started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kasey Holden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Kyle Hurd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Orville Comer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the match, Shamrock's goal looked a bit too open when Kasey Holden came free, but Kyle Hurd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Tod Pritchard put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Olin Carlson. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Shamrock's goalkeeper Kyle Hurd, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kyle Hurd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kasey Holden in the 23rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tim Bassett got free with Kyle Hurd in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tod Pritchard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olin Carlson having to interfere. Joel Schroeder hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Paynesville's zone, Tod Pritchard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olin Carlson came out of the goal and Tod Pritchard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Olin Carlson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tod Pritchard in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Shamrock were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kasey Holden was the one to do the kick off. Kyle Hurd stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tim Bassett's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Kyle Hurd came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Paynesville's Kasey Holden. But to his dismay, Kasey Holden quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Kasey Holden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Kerry Finch fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paynesville's protests and gave Kerry Finch a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Shamrock booed when Paynesville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kerry Finch didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Kurt Ciccaglione from long distance, 68 minutes into the match, got Olin Carlson's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Ruben Erickson fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paynesville's protests and gave Ruben Erickson a yellow card for diving instead. Ruben Erickson kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Olin Carlson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tod Pritchard in the 72nd minute. 74 minutes into the match, Shamrock's goal looked a bit too open when Tim Bassett came free, but Kyle Hurd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Paynesville getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Ruben Erickson hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Orville Comer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shamrock's supporters rose to their feet, but Orville Comer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olin Carlson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80th minute, Kasey Holden ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kyle Hurd was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Tim Bassett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paynesville's supporters rose to their feet, but Tim Bassett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kyle Hurd breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Teodoro Lilly kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Orville Comer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olin Carlson having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Orville Comer fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Olin Carlson, passed just outside the right post. Paynesville's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
