After a defensive mix-up in Bellwood's zone, Randolph Blalock stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abe Salinas came out of the goal and Randolph Blalock tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bellwood's Abe Salinas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Randolph Blalock in the 9th minute of play. Jasper Gant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abe Salinas having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jarvis Ash in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kasey Robison prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 23 minutes, Freddy Cronshagen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Othello and the Bellwood players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 23 played minutes Othello got a freekick which was hit by Freddy Cronshagen. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guillermo Woods during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Bellwood's Sidney Palacios slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kasey Robison. That made the score 1-0 after 27 minutes of play. Abe Salinas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jasper Gant went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Randolph Blalock might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abe Salinas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Randolph Blalock ran back to his position shaking his head. Kasey Robison showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmed Huston in the 43rd minute of the match. Jasper Gant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Abe Salinas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rory Ledbetter kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jarvis Ash was the one to do the kick off. 58 minutes into the game, Jasper Gant lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Abe Salinas. Randolph Blalock hit a great ball. Abe Salinas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jasper Gant in the 79th minute. If Jasper Gant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kasey Robison stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jarvis Ash's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Jasper Gant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Abe Salinas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Rory Ledbetter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Jarvis Ash's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kasey Robison was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. When the final whistle sounded Othello left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Bellwood.
