After 24 played minutes New York City got a freekick which was hit by Daren Medrano. The audience was convinced that Gabriel Norris's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Justin Crews was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, New York City's Daren Medrano got a free kick in the 26th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Glob's Gabriel Norris sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Justin Crews narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Norris in the 52nd minute of play forced New York City's goalkeeper Justin Crews to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blaine Duvall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justin Crews having to interfere. After having played for 58 minutes, Gabriel Norris managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glob's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel Norris was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. New York City's Justin Crews played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Winford Parnell in the 63rd minute of play. When Blaine Duvall, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 89 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Justin Crews was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 93rd minute Lloyd Longoria suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Randall Mullen during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Glob's Winford Parnell couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 94th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for New York City. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind New York City's goalkeeper Justin Crews, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
