After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Clay Garrison stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfred Ford came out of the goal and Clay Garrison tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. German Bergman hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After 9 played minutes Milwaukie FC got a freekick which was hit by Alonso Canales. Mexico's Alfred Ford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hal McNeal in the 14th minute of play. Alfred Ford came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Milwaukie FC's Clay Garrison. But to his dismay, Clay Garrison quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 22 minutes into the game, Wilton Kaplan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Alfred Ford was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Shawn Cornett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Shawn Cornett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otis Leal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Milwaukie FC's Sheldon Hollis got a free kick in the 30th minute. If Winston Crosby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute.
