After 2 played minutes Blaine got a freekick which was hit by Brett Benitez. With a little luck, Milwaukie FC's Otis Leal got control of the ball when Brett Benitez tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Winston Crosby managed to get in a good position for a shot. Milwaukie FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Winston Crosby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roberto Sanchez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Owen Alford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Milwaukie FC's goalkeeper Otis Leal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Owen Alford. 22 minutes into the match, Blaine's goal looked a bit too open when Hal McNeal came free, but Roberto Sanchez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cody Tipton charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cody Tipton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 27 played minutes Milwaukie FC got a freekick which was hit by Hal McNeal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wendell Bowles in the 28th minute of play forced Milwaukie FC's goalkeeper Otis Leal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roberto Sanchez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Winston Crosby's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. If Hal McNeal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 45 minutes, Oren Ciauri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Blaine and the Milwaukie FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 45 played minutes Blaine got a freekick which was hit by Oren Ciauri. After recieving a nice pass, Milwaukie FC's Domingo Cleveland tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hal McNeal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Hal McNeal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hal McNeal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Milwaukie FC's Hal McNeal ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Roberto Sanchez. Roberto Sanchez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Blaine's Roberto Sanchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hal McNeal in the 64th minute of play. The supporters of Milwaukie FC booed when Blaine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brett Benitez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Milwaukie FC defense, Wendell Bowles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Otis Leal. The Milwaukie FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Otis Leal should have stopped the shot. In the 72nd match minute, Milwaukie FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Winston Crosby to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the game, Blaine's Owen Alford nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Otis Leal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 80 minutes into the game, Wilton Kaplan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Milwaukie FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Blaine the free kick. After 80 played minutes Milwaukie FC got a freekick which was hit by Wilton Kaplan. In the 87th minute, Blaine's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Hal McNeal fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Owen Alford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otis Leal having to interfere. Blaine's Oren Ciauri got his second yellow card of the match in the 96th minute. The referee ordered Oren Ciauri off the ground. The supporters of Milwaukie FC booed when Blaine was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oren Ciauri didn't get a good kick on the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
